Vladimir Kagan (1927- )
b. Worms on the Rhine, Germany
Studied architecture at Columbia University
Kagan immigrated to the US in the late thirties. He began learning the craft of furniture making in a woodworking shop belonging to his father shortly after attending University. He opened shop in the late forties in New York. His business served a client base that included names like Marilyn Monroe, Gary Cooper, and Walt Disney. His designs are sought after by prominent figures in the arts and entertainment industry and continue to be the subject of international attention.
