design bio: Edward Wormley (1907-1995) was a designer of Eames era furniture and interiors, primarily for an up-scale clientele. Many of his designs, starting in 1931, were produced by Dunbar Furniture Co., an Indiana based furniture manufacturer. Edward Wormley is known for finely crafted furniture pieces. His relationship with Dunbar was a perfect match because Dunbar had resisted automation and instead made every piece of furniture by hand. Wormley's thirty years of designs were anchored in the past; traditional, classic, and elegant but with a 20th Century modern flair.
